Sea Sessions Music Festival

Yes Folks, its that time of year again and everybody is getting festival fever! With no Oxygen Festival for 2012 why not try something a bit different?? Sea Sessions 2012 promises to be even bigger and better then ever and going on past efforts this is one festival not to be missed! Great tunes, great parties and epic surf competitions!

The Sea Sessions Crew will be touring with Heineken in April/May to Galway, Belfast, Cork and Lahinch.

The tour will kick off in GALWAY’s ROISIN DUBH, where lucky ticket winners will dance their socks off to CRAZY P; the band with their roots in early house and techno, that have moved on to a more Disco and Funk live sound. They’ve released several albums; the latest was the very well received “When We On” and their high-energy live shows, with front woman Danielle Moore, are always a “knock-out”.

Continuing the focus on quality music events, Sea Sessions will head north to the BLACK BOX in BELFAST, where FIJIYA & MIYAGI will take to the stage in what promises to be one of the most exclusive parties of the year. Brighton boys are known for their electronic sound heavily influenced by Krautrock and the likes of Aphex Twin, or so they say themselves. “Ankle Injuries” was a massive club hit and their live shows are known for their tight, hypnotic and pulsating electronic sound.

The May bank holiday weekend will see two events deep in the roots of Irish surfing in the surfer town of Lahinch, and the rebel county. OLLIE TEEBA

(THE HERBALISER) will take to the stage at THE MARKET BAR in KINSALE on the Saturday night and O’LOONEY’s in LAHINCH on the Sunday.
Ollie Teeba is one half of the legendary and former Ninja tunes production duo “The Herbaliser”. They have released 8 albums, and are known as one of the pioneers of that Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop sound. Ollie’s been DJ’ing for all of 25 years so you could say he knows how to rock a party.

Surfing is the heart and soul of Sea Sessions, and to make sure we never lose touch with where we have come from we will be hosting surfing contests in Cork and Lahinch. Surfers will compete on a range of boards from the 60’s and 70’s, as well as modern takes on these old classics, with a prize pot of €500 for each event up for grabs.
